You all remember Soundwave, right? The blue micro-cassette recorder Transformers character?
Well, fun fact! In the original Marvel Comics series, he was, for whatever reason, colored purple!
While I fully expect Soundwave’s black repaint, Soundblaster, to eventually get released within the RED Series, I don’t suspect we’re ever going to see a Hasbro-released purple version. So I made my own.
The photography of the paintjob doesn’t exactly match the above reference photo, but wonderful thing about 1980s comics is that colors were inconsistently printed from issue to issue, and sometimes even from page to page.
Anyways, this was fun. There will be more custom RED Series Transformers coming soon!
