This comic was released after the Japanese release of the arcade game SNK vs. Capcom: SVC Chaos!, but before the game’s North American release. We found what we believed to be early translations of some of the pre-fight dialogue for the English version online, and this was exactly one of them, word-for-word. However, the final release ended up being translated COMPLETELY differently, meaning the joke part of this comic didn’t work at all.
Unfortunate, but okay, because we were still setting up for something else.
