Somewhere in New Jersey, not located on any map, is Capcomarvelsnk City. A city where the majority of the inhabitants are hardened warriors, sinister villains, or superhuman beings. In this city, is the small dojo where Dan Hibiki trains his Saikyo-Ryu style to anybody who wants to learn it. This number is not very great, however, as his style is considered by many to be "useless" and "retarded".

Today, the cocky martial arts master walks into his dojo, and watches as two of his top students are busy sparring. He watches as Hawk, a muscular young man with long brown hair, a goatee, purple sunglasses, and the build of a professional wrestler, dodges a spinning heel kick performed by Croc, a younger, significantly skinnier man with short, dark red hair and awkwardly-long limbs, and counters with one of his trademark moves.

Hawk: RYU-KAJI! ::smashes Croc in the face with his outstretched fist, engulfed in hawk-shaped flames::
Croc: Gaah!! ::flies backwards and lands on his back, but quickly leaps to his feet:: Nice move, Hawk.
Hawk: ::smirks:: Thanks, man.

Dan stands up, looking a bit perturbed, and starts shouting to Hawk.

Dan: Hawk!! Why'd you attack him after dodging his attack? That was a perfect opportunity to taunt and humiliate your opponent!
Hawk: ::shrugs:: Whatever you say, Master Hibiki.
Croc: ::rolls eyes::
Dan: Anyway, I have an announcement to make, and it involves all of my students. Where are they?!
Croc: Well....
Dan: Nevermind! I'll find them all myself.
Hawk: We know where...
Dan: Quiet! I don't need your help. Hmm.....now where could they be.....
Croc: Um...
Dan: Shhh!!!
Hawk: Uh....
Dan: Hush!
Croc: But...
Dan: SHUDDAP!
Hawk: Master Hibiki! We know where they are, if you'd just ask us!
Dan: oh. I never thought of that. Well?! Where are they?!?!
Hawk: Well, Sakura's probably not out of school yet, and Cammy's out shopping.
Croc: Yeah, Alli's with Cammy right now, too.
Dan: Well, what about Jimmy?
Blanka: I'm right here, Dan.

Dan spins around to see his longtime friend, James Blanka, a green-skinned behemoth with nicely-groomed long orange hair, a monocle, and a bubble pipe.

Blanka: Is my presence required, old chap?
Dan: No, but I need you to be here right now!
Blanka: *sigh*

Eventually, Dan's remaining students show up at the dojo, and Dan gathers them altogether for a meeting. Dan, Hawk, Croc, and Blanka are all there, as well as three other students. Sakura Kasugano is a former student of Shotokan who defected to the Saikyo-Ryu Dojo after being defeated by Dan in a match. She has a rather tomboyish look, with messy, short brown hair and a white headband she wears constantly with her schoolgirl uniform. Alli Grey is the fiancee of Croc, and has short dark blue hair styled in a bell shape that curls inward towards the back and sides of her head. She enjoys weightlifting and it shows; her upper body is very solid, and she can stand toe-to-toe with men in fights. Finally, there's Cammy White, the girlfriend of Hawk, and a highly-skilled assassin for a military group called Delta Red. She has a poweful body, long blonde hair done in pigtails, and a scar across her left cheek to remind her of her past history with the evil organization Shadowloo.

Dan: I'm sure you're wondering why I called you all here.
Blanka: I suppose it's because this is usually when our training commences?
Dan: Well....besides that! I have very important news for you. I've decided that you all have been working extra-super-duper hard, and, well...we all deserve a break. So, I've decided to take all of my students on a summer vacation!
Sakura: Wow! You mean it?!
Dan: I sure do! Pack up your bags, because in just a few days, we're all going on a road trip to Maui!

Everyone starts cheering in excitement, when all of a sudden, the front door busts open, and somebody excitedly leaps into the dojo.

Sakura: Oh no.....
Cammy: It can't be...
Croc: I'm afraid it is....
Everyone: SEAN!!!
Sean: Can I come?!?!
