Last time, on Hawk 'n Croc's Big Honkin' Battles...

Hawk 'n Croc arrived at the Leonardo All-Star Martial Arts Tournament (aka, LASMAT) to compete in the semifinals. After diabling half of the competitors with a ridiculously flash transformation sequence, Hawk 'n Croc went on to defeat all their competitors and earn a spot in the quarterfinals.

But they are not the only familiar faces to make it to the vaunted top 8. Hawk's buddy and co-worker Jacky Nightblade also made the cut, as did the paranoid Puerto Rican samurai, Gila Consuelos.

Now, it is the day of the quarterfinals. The Leonardo Stadium is packed with thousands of rabid fans, all of which are very anxious to watch the tournament. There are also many video cameras set up, ready to tape the fighting live and broadcast it on TV. In the center of the stadium is one square, elevated fighting arena. A TV screen is directly above it, so the fans can get a better view of the fighting. Also, off to the side of the fighting arena, there is a commentators' desk, where two commentators sit. They prepare to narrate the battles, for the TV audiences watching the tournament at home.

Commentator #1: This is WRBD, Channel 13, in Leonardo, New Jersey!
Commentator #2: We're here live, getting ready for the Leonardo All-Star Martial Arts Tournament '03!
Commentator #1: I'm Randy Costanza.
Commentator #2: And I'm Brendan Miraclewhip.
Randy: And we're your commentators for tonight's exciting match-ups, live, and starting in just a short time! Stay tuned!

Backstage, the Tournament Announcer Guy is waiting with six of the eight contestants, getting impatient.

T.A.G.: Where are Mr. Devane and Mr. Nighthawk?! We can't start the tournament without them!
Jacky: Don't worry, I'm sure they'll be here soon!
Gila: I say we just go ahead and start without them.
Alli: Now, Gila, you know that we can't have the tournament without all eight finalists!

Just then, Hawk 'n Croc run in, already transformed into their superhero costumes.

Hawk: Sorry for being late! There was some really awful traffic on the way up here!
Croc: Actually, Hawkster here fell asleep at a red light.
Hawk: Hey, shut up!
Fire Raven: I'm surprised the two of you showed up at all. I expected you to just stay at home and watch TV all day. I'm happy to see that your dedication to fight against evil is so strong.
Hawk: Actually, we're just here to win the free pizza.

Fire Raven shakes her head and sighs.

Fire Raven: Well, I guess what's really important is that you're both here. I'm looking forward to seeing how much your skills have progressed.
T.A.G.: Attention contestants! It's time to figure out who will be facing who in the quarterfinals. I have a hat here that contains numbers from 1 to 8. I will call your names in alphabetical order. When your name is called, come up here, draw a number from the hat, and show me which number you have. This will decide which fight you will be fighting in, and who you will be fighting.
Croc: Sounds good.
T.A.G.: Now, I shall call out the first name. Mr. Terrance Beauregard!
Terrance: ::takes a number from the hat and shows it:: NUMBAH WAAAN!!!
T.A.G.: Okay, you'll be in the very first fight of the evening. Mr. Gila Consuelos!
Gila: ::takes a number and shows it:: Four.
T.A.G.: You'll be in the second fight, then. Mr. N. Alan Devane!
Croc: ::shows his number:: Lucky number seven!
T.A.G.: You'll be fighting last. Miss Alli Grey!
Alli: ::shows her number:: Number five.
T.A.G.: You'll be in the third fight of the quarterfinals. Mr. Don Hibachi!
Don: ::rolls up and takes a number:: YAHOOIE!!! I'm number 8! I ROCK!!
T.A.G.: That means you'll be in the last fight, against Mr. Devane. Mr. Jacky Nightblade!
Jacky: ::draws a number:: Number three!
T.A.G.: You'll be fighting Mr. Consuelos in the second fight.
Gila: ::chuckles to himself:: Excellent.
T.A.G.: Mr. Dariaan Nighthawk!
Hawk: ::draws a number:: I got number 6!
T.A.G.: That means you'll be fighting Miss Grey in the third fight. It also means that Miss Raven will be fighting against Mr. Beauregard in the first fight of the evening.
Fire Raven: That's fine with me.
T.A.G.: I'll go tell the officials that the matches have been decided. ::leaves::

Shortly later, back in the stadium where the fights are about to take place...

Randy: Hello, Leonardo! LASMAT '03 is about to begin!
Brendan: Yes, indeed! Eight awesome competitors are going to battle for the championship, and free pizza for life, courtesy of Hungry Wolf Pizza!
Randy: There are going to be some amazing matchups tonight! Terrance Beauregard vs Fire Raven! Jacky Nightblade vs Gila Consuelos! Alli Grey vs Dariaan Nighthawk! And N. Alan "X-Croc" Devane vs Don Hibachi!

Backstage...

Terrance: Are yuu raddy, Fiya Rayvin?
Fire Raven: You bet I am.

Terrance and Fire Raven begin to walk out into the arena.

Randy: And here come the first competitors now!
