The awesome power of mother nature; Monsoon season 2021

The above photos are taken from around my neighborhood. The huge rainstorms known as monsoons happen every year in the southwest, but rarely are they as destructive in such a close proximity to my house. Pretty sure that telephone pole (and attached power lines) is being held up by the crane in that last photo.

I haven’t been all over the area, as it’s still raining pretty hard, but it doesn’t seem like any people are hurt, just some things that can be replaced.

Other than losing power for a little bit last night, my home seems unaffected. Thank goodness.

Just a good reminder that despite our hubris, people aren’t as in charge as they might like to think.
